Understanding the Process…

THE MAKING

Every line, every cut, & every stitch is shaped by hand, with care and precision.

Every garment is made by hand in my atelier, with intention, precision, and a commitment to the highest standard of dressmaking. I do not outsource production; each piece is cut, sewn, and finished by me using thoughtful construction techniques designed for beauty, longevity, and wear. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is made without care.

Because each garment is created specifically for the individual client, the process is deeply personal. From fabric selection to fit, every detail is considered in relation to how you live, what you love to wear, and how you want a piece to feel on the body. Measurements are taken with care, adjustments are made thoughtfully, and the final garment is shaped around your needs rather than forcing you to fit a standard size.

Each design is made uniquely for its wearer, and your pattern is yours alone. Once developed, it is kept on file in my archive, allowing future pieces to be created with the same familiarity, consistency, and understanding of your fit. Over time, this becomes a wardrobe-building process - one rooted in craftsmanship, trust, and clothing made to return to again and again.

02

Measurement

I will use twenty-two measurements, taken in our atelier or via our home fitting kit, to create the pattern for your garment.

01

Pattern

A unique paper pattern is drafted by hand for your body alone - never reused, never digitised.

03

Fitting

I create a muslin toile of the garment and refine the fit and silhouette to your body, either in person or over video. This process may take several fits based on the complexity of the garment.

04

Hand finish

Each garment is made with thoughtful construction details, from pad-stitched lapels and hand-set sleeves to carefully selected trims. Depending on the design, a single piece can require up to 38 hours of work.

05

Final fitting

Final adjustments are made before delivery.

06

Consultation/Design

The process begins with a consultation, either by phone or in person, where we discuss your vision, your needs, and the garment you would like to create. This process will involve approving a design and selecting and choosing fabrics.
